Db_mx worked with Alex Clark and UpCycleLDN to design and build a puzzle piece bike that gave young people a hands on way to learn how bikes are put together and repaired. Db_mx cut the bike with CNC and helped with the practical design process.

After testing two prototype frames, the final version was used in a workshop at The Great Exhibition Road Festival, where young people from Brixton Wings youth club took part in building the bike themselves, run by UpCycleLDN.

It was a great experience. We learned a lot about how design can support learning and how even basic materials and simple making techniques can be used to create something fully functional.

The project was later shown at the Innovation Design Engineering graduate exhibition RCA for Alex Clark FMP.
